Don Miguel Guelbenzu founded the original family estate in Cascante, Navarra in 1851 and the first winery was a Masonic building , called "la Casa Rosa". in 1851, Guelbenzu showed their wines at the gret London Universal exhibition and won gold and went on to win a prestigious wine award in Bordeaux at the 1882 tasting. Since their inception they have specialized in creating red wine blends.
