The Valdelosfrailes Winery is located in the municipality of Cubillas de Santa Marta, in the province of Valladolid, and belongs to the emerging D.O. Cigales of red wines. Its excellent facilities are surrounded by carefully-tended vineyards that produce the area’s main grape variety, Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. The extraordinary 1999 harvest provided the raw material for the first wines launched onto the market. The origin of Valdelosfrailes as a winery stems from the winemaking tradition of Carlos Moro’s family, who for many years have been cultivating vines and making wine in the traditional manner in the areas of Cubillas de Santa Marta and Valoria la Buena. |
About the Wine
|
_APPEARANCE: Medium cherry color, clean and bright, with purple highlights.
NOSE: Great aromatic intensity, with a wide range of fruit aromas (strawberry, peach, pineapple and blackberry), with floral touches of fennel. Very expressive, with the openness characteristic of Tempranillo. MOUTH: Very well-balanced, with an acidity that adds freshness in harmony with a full, oily body. Intense retronasal phase that recalls the aromas of ripe fruits, with a pleasant sensation of volume and a long finish. |
_This fresh and elegant wine, made entirely with Verdejo grapes.
Tasting Notes Nose: Fruity and strong, primary aromas of fresh fruit from the tropical range of banana and pineapple, in perfect harmony with so characteristic Verdejo scents such as lavender blossoms, lightly aniseed touches of fennel and thyme, hay and fresh herbs. Mouth: medium structure, with an acidity touch which gives to the wine a noticeable freshness - in perfect harmony with a hardly noticed alcohol. Elegant fruit flavors with the typical bitter touch of this grape variety at the end. |
